Sleepwalking

>> Thursday, December 16, 2010

I stayed up late studying for my quiz.

I woke up this morning when my sister stuck her head in my room and said, "Hey, get up. It's 7:15." Staying up late this whole week has def taken a few years off my life.

"...she would have lived to be 90 if she had only gotten more sleep; so sad..."

but bee-lieve me. I intend to get so much sleep during break. You can run and tell that.

And then my friend, Stacey, brought me a sweet snowman mug that I can bake a small cake in. I've never heard of anyone doing that before, but I'm excited to try it.

We got a CHRISTmas tree last night! Maybe it will get decorated tonight. Fingers crossed.

So I'm looking at my hwy lab and thinking about all the hwk we have to do over break. Why teachers? Why? Do you hate us? Are you anti-holiday celebrations and family time?

Anyway,

Thursday-Christmas-Race-Warm-Up

>> Wednesday, December 15, 2010

The race is on.

Two days left before everyone goes home for Christmas break so that means I have two days to get everything together.

candy, presents, food goodies, cards, birthday presents...

I'm so excited! I love giving!!

Today is muh friend Miranda's bday!! Happy Birthday, Miranda!!

I got my Christmas work present today. So nice. I got a stocking with the name of my school on it, a little positionable wooden man ( like something my art major friend has), some decals for my car, and a huge chocolate bar. It was so sweet of them to give me something. I love it.

I only have one more class this week. It's tomorrow. BUT, in that class, I have homework and a quiz that I am currently putting off so I can type this blog. Sometimes I get so busy and stressed out that I kind of just freeze and don't do anything.
..................................................................................\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
So the other day I was walking to class and there was this girl in front of me. A car stopped so she could cross the street and she stopped and bowed sort of like she was saying thank you. Then we keep walking and she suddenly stops and just freezes in the walking position she was in. Arms bent and everything. I almost ran in to her. It was so weird.

And there's this lady who works in the library, who I think might have been the girl who was walking in front of me (I don't know for sure because I didn't make eye contact, and she was wearing a fedora...), who is kinda strange. She talks to the students like she is a little kid and uses way too many cliche expressions. Every time I walk through I look up and she is looking at me. Creeps. I can't decide if I can't stand her or if I admire her. She is really weird, though, and awkward.

Gotta get back to fluids. I wish you all a Merry Christmas holiday season!

It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas Break

>> Wednesday, December 08, 2010

It's almost Christmas time!
Well it IS Christmas time. A lot of people complain that Thanksgiving is the stepchild holiday and all the emphasis is placed on Christmas. My dad told me that when he was little Christmas wasn't a long drawn out month-long celebration. They didn't put up a tree till Christmas Eve.

I really love this time of year. The weather is changing and everything seems magical. I enjoy spending time with friends and family more than getting presents. I honestly do. I have another week and a half of school before break starts. It amazes me how fast Christmas comes and goes. Every year I say to myself, "I need to do more for the holidays", but then I never do. I wish Christmas was a week instead of a day. I can't wait to cuddle up in front of the fireplace and read a book. Of course it probably won't be cold enough to use the fireplace until January.

So, I was trying to think of something fun to do for this blog. I can post pictures and everything, but I wanted to try something different. So I am going to blog about my latest reads! Hooray! Here they are:

1. Okay so my friend Amalee who is in 6th grade told me that all her friends were reading this series about vampires and other magically unchallenged creatures. It sounded really good so I ran to the library and checked out the first book in the series: Dead is the New Black by Marlene Perez. It was alright, but all the situations seemed to solved awful quickly and relatively easy. If that makes any sense.I give it a two out of five. I dig the cover art, though. Next.

2. Dead to the World by Charlaine Harris
You don't have to say it. I know I shouldn't read these books. They are filthy, but for some reason I want to read them all. It's like when I'm watching tv at night and the old Married with Children comes on and I'm all, "Oh, this is horrible! I hate this show!" but then I end up watching both episodes. why...?I hAtE, with alternate cap rage, the way Sookie talks. No one I know speaks that way and I am from northern Louisiana. Oh, and, why is it that poor Sookie gets all the guys? She's all, "Wah wah I've never had a boyfriend cause people think I'm nuts. It's so hard being able to hear what you think. I'm a poor, innocent blonde" yet all the men in her life are ready to get in on the action no questions asked. It makes me sick. And why wasn't she upset that her grandma died??

3. Catalyst by Laurie Halse AndersonI just finished this book today. I loved loved it. It was definitely not a feel good book. A lot of sad things happen, but it is possibly the fastest read I have ever experienced. Most books I read are so ridiculous when it comes to everyday activities. I hate it when the author explains everything they do in perfect detail. I think I am referring to Book No. 2 when I say this. I can't explain it. It just drives me insane!

That's what I've read recently. Overall pretty alright. As soon as a finish this post and brush my teeth I'm gonna jump into bed and start The Year I Turned Sixteen by Diane Schwemm. It's pretty thick so maybe it'll take me a while.

I wish I could go back in time.

~ Merry Christmas ~

7 Good Things

>> Friday, November 05, 2010

Just got out of class and now I am at work. A few good things have been happening to me in the last couple of days. Thought I would share. They wouldn't be exciting to a normal person I'm guessing, but I have no life so I was thrilled:

1. As I walk into class 30 minutes early, there is a jumbo size rubber band at my seat. I don't even know what to say. All during class I am planning on who I can shoot and what I can shoot. Then I go into daydreaming about what the teacher would do if I shoot something to the front of the room or someone. The rest of the time is spent wrapping the rubber band around my writing-cramped hand to make it feel better.

I don't know where it is now....I need to find it.

2. It's cold outside! Which means I can straighten my hair and it might stay straight if it's in good mood.

3. I'm going to the fair tomorrow. So happy. I stinkin love the fair. I'm gonna ride the Zipper till I throw up and pass out. And then I'm gonna get a funnel cake. oh yeah.

Oh. I will.

4.
I understood all of my strengths hwk that was due today. I didn't have to rely on cramster (shout out!) to teach me.

5. It's Friday. Which should make everyone a little happier. I love Friday. I can catch up on homework and then sleep in Saturday. No school for two days! Which also means no teachers. Teachers make me nervous.

-1. My dynamics teacher just sent out an email with the subject line " MOTHER OF ALL DEADLINES" and the only thing in the message was when the deadline is. I have no clue what this means and it scares me. My Friday mood just sunk a little.

6. My sisters bought Just Dance 2.

7. I can't believe I forgot about this until number 7! It should be number 1. I got 6 extra points on a test because my teacher made a mistake. It's good for me, but I kinda feel bad for him, like I was pointing out his error. Sorry man, but I want an A.

There are so many more, but I'm going to stop at 7 in case someone does read this. I wouldn't want to scare away my only reader.

Church Camp

>> Wednesday, November 03, 2010

Heeellllooooo

Last weekend I went to church camp, even though I am in college and the second oldest camper. I guess I'm kind of like a counselor without the responsibilities and without the perks. So I'm just a camper. It's a lot of fun though. I played volleyball, soccer, incredi-ball, and football which resulted in me walking hunched over for a couple of days. I hope I am just that out of shape and not getting old. Is that how it's gonna feel?

Pics you say? Aight:

The food at camp is uh-mazin' contrary to how this picture may influence your opinion.

Some friends sitting in the tabernacle.

I love these two. Made for a very fun time at camp.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

A little girl in my church got hit by a truck and was killed last week. I can't stop thinking about it. I didn't even know her that well, but I can't get her out of my head. I think about how her family is feeling and her friends and how I would feel if I lost a kid. And I can't accept the reality of the situation, and I hope that I wake up tomorrow and it was all a bad dream and none of it happened. I know things like this happen, but I always assumed they wouldn't to anyone I knew. I guess it just made me realize how fragile life is and how definite and mysterious death seems. She was just a kid.

Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble.

Hallelujah! Grace like rain falls down on me.
Hallelujah! All my stains are washed away. They're washed away.

I love that song.

Time for bed, especially if I am trying to go running before work. blehhh

When do we fall back? :]

later days, sammm

Sunday Night Hwk Tradition

>> Sunday, October 17, 2010

Sunday again already? Where does the week go? Where does time go?

Well, as usual, I'm trying to finish up some homework due tomorrow and some that was due Friday. I think my teacher takes late assignments. I actually like homework, but not on weekends. If I w
as a teacher, I would assign things for my class to do during the week, but let them have the weekends off. I was thinking about that yesterday.

I've got Corpse Bride in, but it keeps freezing so I get to hear 5 seconds of it every 30 seconds. It's really lame. I need a
new DVD player. I just finished reading posts from my old xanga site, which is basically the same as this. Right this very second I am listening to Animal by Miike Snow. I guess it gets to be the soundtrack for this blog post. money, money, money

Oh yeah! The Halloween party was a success; very fun. We had a cake-less cake walk and soccer and pumpkin decorating. I was going to dress up as Ron Weasley. Unfortunately the red wig I had was n
othing like the picture on the front of the package. SO I was just a Hogwarts student. I love red hair.

The Renaissance Festival is coming up soon. I am very excited. I didn't get to go last year.
Here's some pics from the two years ago.
Not sure how the robot and grim reaper fit in, but hey.

It's time for bed so I'm gone, but hope your Monday is wonderful. :] sammm

Dynamics and Statics - - sheesh

>> Monday, October 11, 2010

Today was another Monday. It started out swell because my dynamics teacher asked me a question in class that I could answer. Confidence booster. Then he sent out an email telling us how badly we did on the quiz. Yeah man, thanks.

This Friday my friend Whitney and I are throwing a Halloween party for kids from her church and some of our friends, too. Another item for the to-do list. But I love it.

Anyway, there's homework to do and library books waiting to be read. Till tomorrow :]

Here's your nerd pic of the day. Statics test question.

Enjoy.

Sunday afternoon

>> Sunday, October 10, 2010

So I recently found out that my sister has a blog, but she won't tell me what it is. That made me remember that once upon a time, I too had a blog. Well, it existed, but I never posted anything. So I have decided to try and revive this sad blog and bring it to life. This is my attempt.

It's Sunday afternoon and I have a load of homework due tomorrow that I need need need to be doing right now. I know in the back of my head that it will get done, but I probably won't get any sleep. That's how it always happens. Put it off as long as possible then hate myself for waiting so late to start. It always works that way.

So I should get off here and at least think about doing it. Yes, a new leaf. Doubtful.

Anyway, here's to more posts. Cheers!
